National Law Enforcement Animal Memorial

Since 911 the lost of K9 Sirius has developed a high citizen awareness about the jobs emergency service personnel perform day in and day out, 24 hours a days, 7 days a week. K9 Sirius has not died in vain - his lost has brought together a nation of animal lovers who want to recognize not only Sirius but all service animals that have paid the ultimate price.

Ray Allen Manufacturing is in a position to coordinate the information and has offered to act as a central gathering point. Now, we have a long, long way to go but if all agencies and officers participate, whatever your affiliation, that journey will result in a National Law Enforcement Animal Memorial (similar to the Peace Officers Memorial) in Washington D.C.

They are also printing an announcement in the three remaining catalogs for this year that has an inside back cover article on David & K9 Sirius explaining what it is we are trying to do. Their next catalog will mailed by the end of June.

The first phase of this endeavor is to put together a list of K9's, horses, and any other certified law enforcement animal that has died in the line of duty (we don't want to leave any animals out). The purpose of the memorial is to honor just the animals that died in that way - not from old age or health, but while being engaged in the job.

It is very important that the information be accurate as it will have to be verified by the memorial administration before an animal's name can be added to the wall. Simply fill out this form and click submit. Soon there will be a search feature to see if your animal is listed. This will help eliminate duplicate entrys.

Second phase (once we have Washington's backing) will be to verify all the names we have compiled and raise the money for the memorial. I honestly think this will be the easiest part. People really want this thing to happen.
